Neuromuscular Therapy

$70 per hour

Neuromuscular therapy (NMT) also referred to as Trigger Point Therapy, consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of muscle spasm. The massage therapy pressure is usually applied with the fingers, knuckles, or elbow.  Once applied to a muscle spasm, the pressure should not vary for thirty to sixty seconds.  This may or may not include Essential Oils.

Muscles that are in spasm are painful to the touch.  The pain is caused by ischemic tissue.  Ischemia means the muscle is lacking proper blood flow, usually due to the spasm.  A muscle not receiving enough blood, is also not receiving enough oxygen.  The lack of oxygen causes the muscle to produce lactic acid.  The lactic acid makes the muscle feel sore.  After the muscle relaxes, and blood flow returns, the lactic acid can be released from the muscle.

NMT may be painful at first, but the pressure should alleviate the spasm.  It is important to communicate with the therapist regarding the pressure – too much, too little, getting better, worse.  Many of my clients refer to this type of pain as “a good hurt”.  On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being excruciating, I am looking for a 6 or 7, just before you tighten up against me.

Following a session, any soreness that presents itself should fade after 24-36 hours.   The muscles that were tight should remain noticeably more relaxed for 4 to 14 days, depending on stress, and activity level, and the severity of the pain prior to the session.

Therapeutic Massage

$70 per hour

60 or 90 minutes of a therapeutic blend of Swedish massage and essential oils, with possibly some myofascial trigger point therapy, and/or neuromuscular techniques to provide you with the perfect combination to meet the needs and goals of your session.  This can be used for pain management or for a relaxing treat, entirely your choice.

Raindrop Technique

$100+ per 90 minutes +oil

Raindrop Technique is a remarkable procedure that brings structural and electrical alignment to the body in a relaxing and invigorating manner.  Essential oils are used and applied to the feet using a vitaflex technique.  This technique is said to have originated in Tibet.  These same oils are then applied to the back in a particular sequence with various strokes.  I use Young Living Oils and the oils used are high in phenolic content to ward off viruses and bacteria.  Valor®, Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Wintergreen, Marjoram, Cypress, Peppermint.

Come and experience Raindrop for yourself.

Postural Consultation

$100 per hour

Come in and let me take a look at your posture.  I will use a plumb line, take some photos, and take some measurements of your shoulder and hip girdles.  I will show you how your left and right sides relate to each other (yes they can and often do differ).  I will explain what I see and how it may relate to your pain.   We will discuss your daily routines, and sleep routines, and I will explain how these routines contribute to shortened and/or lengthened muscle patterns, so you can better understand how they impact your posture.

NOTE: Add a bodywork session and we can get started on any issues right away.

Add Castor Oil Pack

$5 add per session

A Castor Oil Pack is beneficial to those juice fasting as it aids in the detoxification process.  It is a piece of flannel soaked in castor oil and is applied to the abdomen throughout the massage session.
